French biz delegation due in June - Annual General Meeting (AGM) of France-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB)

A Business France delegation will arrive in the city on a three-day visit on June 06, said a press release on Monday. The members of the delegation are likely to be from various infrastructure sectors and are expected to hold talks with their local counterparts during their stay.

H.E. Mrs. Sophie Aubert, Ambassador of France, disclosed the information while addressing the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of France-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIFB) at a hotel in the city on April 2, 2017.

The Ambassador hoped that the visit of the delegation will encourage more business between the two countries. Regarding visa, H.E. Mrs. Sophie Aubert said she had wrote to her ministry in Paris for another official to be sent as the present staff is inadequate to handle the demand for visa.

Assuring businessmen that their visa requests would always receive priority, she reminded them of the time required (for granting of visa) and requested them to plan well ahead of the visit. Mr. Francois Petit, Economic Counsellor, hoped that the airlines of Bangladesh, specially Biman Bangladesh Airlines, would think of purchasing aircraft from Airbus. It would help correct the balance of payments which is tilted in Bangladesh's favour.
