On 28th June, 2018, in the presence of Her Excellency Mrs. Marie-Annick BOURDIN, Ambassador of France to Bangladesh, the Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh, and officials from the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, the first tripartite seminar between France, Japan and Bangladesh on civil safety and natural disaster crisis management was held in Dhaka.               .

Co-financed by the French Directorate for Security and Defense Cooperation (DCSD), and supported by our Internal Security Service, this action brought together experts from the French Crisis Center (Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs) and from the French General Directorate of Civil Security and Crisis Management (Ministry of Interior), representatives of JICA (the Japanese International Cooperation Agency), and about fifty Bangladeshi officers mostly from the Fire Service and Civil Defense (FSCD).

This workshop was an opportunity for the French side to learn more about the Bangladeshi environment in terms of threat related to natural disasters and regarding the organization of the civil safety system in Bangladesh.

Several lines of cooperation have been identified for the future, including command and coordination of important means, and management of CBRN crisis. France has recognized expertise in these areas.
