France Alumni West India network launch in Mumbai

Last week, the French Embassy celebrated the launch of the  France Alumni West India network. The network was launched in the presence of the Consul General of France Mr Yves Perrin by Dr Bertrand de Hartingh, Counsellor for Cooperation and Cultural Affairs and the Director of the French Institute in India at the Royal Opera House, Mumbai.

Indeed it was a momentous occasion for the Embassy of France to host the gathering at the magnificent and newly-restored space – the Royal Opera House.

The event marked the third edition of the launch of the France Alumni network in India. This special event was organised for the alumni from the Western part of India where we have the largest and most impressive alumni base who can contribute to make France Alumni network more vibrant and active.

The launch comprised of a light and fun filled panel discussion with three alumni from diverse fields who shared their French experience, their fondest memories from France and how the French education fostered their activity and career at a global scale.

Paris-based international news network France 24 was the prime sponsor of the event. French multinational video game publisher Ubisoft showcased a part of the innovative and interactive video game ‘Just Dance’ which is a rhythm game series along with choreographers performing on stage to match the beats and dance steps on the screen projection.

Alumni from France took part in this event as well as the members from the French Consulate, directors from the Alliance Francais West India region, representatives from the French Schools and Indian Universities and CEOs from French companies operating in India.
