• Finance / Economics based degree or an engineering / mathematics degree coupled with a professional qualification such as CFA, CIMA, ACA, ACCA (or Mexican equivalent).
• Minimum 3 years of relevant experience preferably within a sponsor-side M&A and/or project finance team; alternatively within a bank (project finance or investment banking), financial advisory firm and/or accounting advisory firm
• Strong academic background and proficient understanding of basic macroeconomics concepts, theory of finance, valuation frameworks, corporate finance, basics of accounting and tax.
• Proven experience in financial modelling and up-to-date proficiency in excel (including writing basic Macros)
• Fluent Spanish (preferably Mexican Spanish) and English mandatory
• Strong and proven analytical skills
• Commercial acumen with good understanding of energy markets, power generation economics and/or gas markets economics
• LOCATION: Ciudad de Mexico (MEXICO) / some travel within Mexico, sometimes to other countries within LATAM and sporadically to Europe. Local Contract.
• Responsible for preparation of complex financial models / financial analyses or reviewing and/or audit financial models / financial analyses of financial models prepared by other team members
• Responsible for the valuation of new development projects and acquisitions
• Responsible for analysis of financial (or financing related) risks and impact of proposed transactions on accounting
• Assist with the structuring and execution of financing plans for new projects
• Responsible for preparing or assisting with financing, accounting and tax related inputs in financial models (where required with the support of relevant expertise centres and/or external consultants)
• Assist with the selection of banks / financing institutions and/or agencies
• Assist business development decision making process
• Assist with analysis on risk allocation, bankability issues, optimization & tax structuring.
