Campus France, partner of the French-Saudi agreement on the development of the Al-Ula site

On April 10, France and Saudi Arabia signed an agreement on the development of the archaeological site Al-Ula. Campus France joined the project to bring its know-how to train young Saudis in the tourism, archaeology and agriculture industries.

The touristic development of the archaeological site Al-Ula, considered as the "Saudi Petra site" is at the heart of the cooperation agreement France has just signed with Saudi Arabia during the visit of crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman in Paris. France will bring all its know-how to develop the touristic potential of the site.

In this regard, Campus France has signed an agreement with the Royal Commission for Al-Ula to ensure the training of 300 to 1,000 scholarship recipients over 10 years in short courses and professionally-oriented courses in France. Targeted industries include hotel management, tourism, agriculture, archaeology and heritage. 

Campus France agency will bring all its know-how in education engineering to ensure a successful course for Saudi students:

 

  • Intensive learning of the French language during one to two years before the course starts;
  • Accommodation in host families for a better integration in French society;
  • Pedagogical monitoring with a mentor and implementation of tutorship
