CALL FOR APPLICATION – 4 PHD PROGRAMS

1.    The Nanosciences Foundation’s PhD Program

The PhD Program of the Nanosciences Foundation is a three year program to support PhD training of students selected by a jury. This call is for all areas of interdisciplinary research, dedicated to Nanosciences and Nanotechnology.

The thesis will be prepared in one of the network’s laboratories.

 

The program is open to highly talented and motivated students of any nationality, educated everywhere except France. Applicants from different backgrounds (biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, mathematics) who can build, thanks to a research proposal, a strong interest in the field of Nanosciences are welcome. It is compulsory to build a proposal in strong connection with the targetted host laboratory, taking into account the networking opportunity within the Grenoble ecosystem. Applicants should have the equivalent of a master’s degree obtained outside of France, and must be fluent in English language.

2.    The Lanef PhD Program

LANEF PhD Program is a three year program to support PhD training of excellent students. The thesis will be prepared in one of the six laboratories.

 

The program is open to highly talented and motivated students of any nationality. Students from different backgrounds (biology, chemistry, physics, engineering, mathematics) who can demonstrate a strong interest in the fields of LANEF are welcome. Applicants should have a master’s degree and must be fluent in English language. A good mobility (within the country of origin - or internationally) demonstrated during the undergraduate cursus will be considered as a plus.

Applicants must have already found a PhD supervisor in one of the 6 laboratories of LANEF and be able to propose a thesis project in agreement with his/her future thesis supervisor.

A thesis project based on synergies between the 6 laboratories or the different thematics, will have a greater chance to be selected by our evaluation committee - also if it aims at enhancing collaborations with R&D, healthcare laboratories, or companies.

3.    Quantum Engineering Grenoble PhD Programm 2019

The QuEnG doctoral programme is funded by the Idex-UGA and aims to foster a pluridisciplinary ecosystem for quantum technologies. The laureates will pursue high-level research at the interface between physics, mathematics, computer sciences, social sciences, humanities, or with industrial coaching.

In this call, one PhD grant will be attributed on Philosophy of quantum physics or Social sciences, one PhD grant will be attributed jointly with GreQue on any topics relevant to the QuEnG objectives. Half thesis scholarship will be attributed for a project on the quantum physics/mathematics interface.

The program is open to highly talented and motivated students of any nationality. Applicants should have a master’s degree. A good mobility (within the country of origin - or internationally) demonstrated during the undergraduate cursus, and well as fluency in English will be considered as a plus. Applicants for the program have to meet the following criteria:

• Outstanding or excellent Master’s degree or equivalent qualification

• Capacity or good previous knowledge in Quantum Computing, Quantum Technology, Philosophy or Sociology of Science, Mathematics

• Outstanding references

4.    Grenoble Quantum Engineering PhD Program 2019

The Grenoble Quantum Engineering (GreQue) doctoral programme is supported by the European Union, via a COFUND Marie Slodowska Curie Action (MSCA). It will provide the laureates with a double training involving fundamental research in top-level laboratories and strong industrial exposure through internships within our network of industrial partners.

Applicants must  fulfill  the  MSCA  mobility  criteria : No  nationality  conditions,  but  applicants must  not  have  spent  more  than  one  year  in France during the last three years.

This call will  grant 1  PhD  projects  hosted  in  Grenoble  research  institutes  in  which  the   student  will benefit  from  a  2  to  6  months  placement  in  a  European  company.  25  SMEs  &  large groups  in  5  countries have committed  to  offer  such  placement  to  our  students  in accordance with their PhD project.
