Hydro Power Engineer - Development Manager of Hydro Power Plants in Indonesia

Akuo Energy, one of the world's leading renewable energy companies involved in large scale renewable energy power plant development, engineering, construction, operation & maintenance is looking for a Hydro Power Engineer as a Project Development Manager (PDM) to support the development of its Hydropower Projects in Indonesia.

The PDM will assist the Development Team in the assessment of potential hydro project sites, on Greenfield projects as well as on potential acquisitions. In the Akuo team, s/he would also:

(i) support the procurement, engineering and construction team in order to select local contractor(s) who will participate in building the plant (electrical, civil works),

(ii) support the project financing team in structuring the financing of the project(s).

The PDM will be based in Bali with frequent travels on sites inside all Indonesia. S/he will liaise permanently with the Hydro Project Team based in Paris.


Key Responsibilities:
• Provide hydro engineering advice (main focus on hydrological analysis, and civil design) and guidance to the project team for the ongoing project in development & acquisition process;
• Conceptual designs as well as detailed designs for the necessary civil works;
• Evaluation of technical proposals and bid evaluation reports;
• Review and comment upon contractors design drawings and documents to ensure compliance with contract specifications and good engineering practice; recommend alterations, amendments or specification changes;
• Be familiar with environmental and licensing processes and how to coordinate issues in the renewable energy development process;
• Reviewing the technical capability and capacity of prospective Sub-Contractors and Suppliers and ensuring that they are appointed in accordance with Company Procedures;
• Identify and evaluate greenfield project development opportunities;
• Identify and evaluate opportunities of co-development and acquisitions with potential partners;
• Conduct permitting process, grid connection procedures, manage the environmental studies and technical design management up to project finance.


Qualification :
The candidate that the company is looking after
• Has Civil/Hydro Engineering Degree (or any relevant engineering degree). Master degree is advantage.
• Has a 3-years experience minimum on the development of HPP projects in Indonesia for a reputable Indonesian or international company.
• Has solid knowledge about hydrology
• Is confident in working with multi-disciplinary and international teams.
• Demonstrate excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Fluent in English. Speaking French is an advantage
• Has a clean driving license.
• Has the following computer skills: Excel (Macro/VBA), MS Office, AutoCAD. Knowledge on GIS software is advantage.
• Has Negotiation abilities, Team player, Autonomous, and Open-minded profile
• Should be able to handle a flexible time schedule
