EDF R&D has three centers in France and six abroad to capture world energy sectors innovations and collaboratively perform applied research to tackle some of the world toughest energy challenges. You will join EDF R&D China centre located in downtown Beijing.
You will join EDF R&D China centre as an Innovative Storage Research Engineer. The application domains will cover the value chain of energy and can be as diverse as: electrochemical battery related topics (Battery SOH, dynamic battery, battery aging and recycling), long duration energy storage (LDES) technologies covering Redox flow battery, compressed air energy storage, and process simulation for other related decarbonization technologies for energy transitions.
You will contribute to the research work on innovative storage technologies and decarbonization technologies of the centre, assist across domain studies within the department, and contribute to support local business on the topic. You will often work within multi-disciplinary project teams, where you will apply your skills in storage and decarbonization to answer the project's needs.
In addition, you will contribute to develop our cooperation network with Chinese academic and research partners and participate to the roadmap of EDF R&D on your research domain.
YOUR WORK
You will work in the Integrated & Decarbonized Energy Systems (IDES) team located at EDF China R&D Center in Beijing.
The tasks will include:
* Develop technical competence for innovative storage technologies and decarbonisation process.
* Develop the competences on process simulation and/or algorithms of storage systems and decarbonization process.
* Scout and evaluate the techno-economic feasibility of innovative solutions in local market.
* Contribute to the collaboration with academic and research partnerships in China.
* Assist the development of new business and research projects collaborations with local EDF business units as well as industrial and academic partners by contributing to analyses and proposals.
REQUIRED SKILLS
• Energy, engineering or process engineering major, strongly motivated candidates holding master’s or PhD’s degree, with experience in energy industry as a plus.
• An academic or industrial experience abroad would be appreciated.
• Good communication skills and team spirit; motivation to work in a multicultural environment.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
• Chinese, mother tongue.
• Fluent English both written and spoken.
• French is a strong plus.
