French-Indian Campus: call for proposals results

The Steering Committee, composed of representatives from the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Higher Education and Research, Campus France, and the Indian Embassy in France, met on October 28, 2022 and selected the following four projects as part of the call for proposals for the creation of the French-Indian Campus.

List of successful institutions and proposals (in alphabetical order):

 

  • Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon - Consortium: ENS-Lyon (coordinator), ENS-PSL, ENS Saclay and ENS-Rennes - for its "Biosantexc" proposal, aims to build cooperation within an ENS-IISER network of excellence for training and research in the field of life sciences for health. Indian Partners: IISER Pune, IISER Tirupati, IISER Kolkata, IISER Bophal, IISER Mohali and IISER Thiruvananthapuram;
  • Université Côte d'Azur for its "Franco-Indian Campus" proposal focuses, in particular, on the field of digital biosciences and innovation, the creation of a joint master's program, an interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral doctoral academy, and an entrepreneurship and intrapreneurship program. Indian Partners: ASHOKA University, IISc Bangalore, IIIT Delhi;
  • Université de La Réunion - Consortium: Université de La Réunion, Lyon 1, Lyon 2 and Poitiers - for its "Plant Innovation and Artificial Intelligence for India and France" (ILIADE) proposal, focuses on the biotechnology of natural products. Indian Partners: Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), National Center for Biological Sciences;
  • Sorbonne University, in its "Integrated Health" proposal, includes fundamental biology and health sciences, including engineering, chemistry, physics, modeling, applied mathematics, bioinformatics, computer science, and human and social sciences applied to medicine. Indian Partners: IIT Delhi, AIIMS.
