Our client is a leading European family owned manufacturing company with more than 1 billion US$ annual sales turnover worldwide. In China, they have numerous production facilities with about 1000 employees and produce more than 250,000 tons high quality paper every year, including dyalizing papers (used for producing masks or packing medical supplies), décor papers (wallpaper, wooden floor and furniture), heat & water transfer papers. To support their rapid growth in China, we are looking for an experienced Technical Director to support all production facilities in China to improve quality, productivity and costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Report to COO in Europe (solid line) and Board of Directors in China (dotted line), act as the local Technical and Production head in China
First step is to motivate and support the teams in China HQ and the new production plant near Hangzhou, second step to support all paper mills in China
Support all production facilities in China to achieve company´s goals in quality, productivity and cost.
Act as a counsellor with informal leadership, developing an intercultural team in China, especially in operations.
KPIs or Measurements are: Product qualification, quality, product performance, productivity and costs; Efficiency of organization; Mill and product performance
REQUIREMENTS:

Fluent in English or German, must be able to speak Chinese
University or vocational study and qualifications in production, engineering or technics
Technical background and experience in paper making or coating, printing industries
Fluent in English and must be able to speak Chinese, ideally also German
Well respected management history / career track records
International mind-set; team player; hands-on mentality; excellent communication and interpersonal skills
